Arns bågar, Örebro

Arns Arches draws inspiration from Georg Arn's architecture in Örebro. The vaulted roof is a recurring signature in his buildings and interiors, including Örebro's sports hall and the Varmbadhuset (warm bathhouse). We have created a beautiful and simple pavilion that feels both contemporary and connected to Örebro's history.

The enclosed building, built in larch wood, can be accessed through a central entrance with doors facing both the Svartån river and the park stage. The staircase on the slope from the outdoor seating area will be refurbished, with the steps widened so that visitors can sit on them in fine weather.

The cross-laminated wood structure and the curved roof consist of two layers, one in polycarbonate and one in perforated sheet metal, creating a three-dimensionality in the façade. Lighting and infrared heating have been integrated into the wood structure along the façade and under the roof, so that the building is surrounded by a soft glow during the darker hours of the day. The illuminated pavilion functions as a lantern, increasing the sense of safety in the park.
